Setting up the classroom!

I'm very excited to be done with grad school and can focus on my classroom this year with all my new learnings!  I also want to make it pretty but I need a little help.  All my teaching blog friends have beautiful classrooms and I want one too!!  I also want a new kitchen so spending money is not really an option right now.  Here are my classroom pictures.  I have a lot of work to do still!!

 As you can see my classroom is huge.  It is both a hindrance and blessing.  I really want to fix my book bin labels.  I  have a hodge podge of labels from Kelly's Kindergarten and Jessica Meacham.  Any ideas??

 A very white,
 and long white board.
 Any ideas for these boards?  They need to be year round.

 Huge alphabet and numbers go here.  Hubby has to help with this because I am too short.  Unfortunately this won't get done before open house. 



 Much better.  Orange is my word wall.  Names go on first and the students will help me with that.  Student work board stolen from a blog.  I think it was the safari themed one.  THANKS!! (Although I did something very similar last year.)
 Mess!!  Most of this stuff goes on the walls.  Too much to do, not enough time. :)  Story of our lives right.

    Wow! I love your big windows! This is the first year where I don't have a single window... not even a tiny one. It's strange to go through the whole day and have no idea what is happening outside. :)

    I am so jealous of your huge classroom and windows! My room is underground so our only view is the hallway...I'm excited to see what your room looks like when it's all done! :)

Letter Order for Houghton Mifflin Journeys Kindergarten

The teacher has lice :/

You itched your head just reading that didn't you??  Lice does not discriminate.  Anyone can get it.  Even me. So we have A LOT of hair at our house and about a year ago I decided it would be a good idea to grow out my hair to see how long I could go before I couldn't stand it anymore.  It is a year and a half later and I had/have lice.  Nice experiment huh?  So my daughter's Kindergarten teacher is a good friend of mine and the day after Thanksgiving break came the e-mails.  "What a day, I've sent 2 home with lice and another 2 told me that they spent Thanksgiving break bagging up toys and shampooing with special shampoo." and then "5th one just went home."  I raced home at 5:00 to discover that my kinder had a head full and guess who slept in a hotel bed with her over Thanksgiving?  Yes me!!  Time to freak out.  Please don't do this.  It doesn't help whatsover and it will be OK, I promise.   If you are reading...
