The 2nd Grade Chick

I love a good linky party so I just HAD to join in the fun.   Buzzing with Ms. B  is hosting a Valentine Linky Party on how you met your hunny.  I am also a little late on this but still jumping on this bandwagon. So hubby and I met in college (look at us sporting our alumni gear), at a bar.  I know, how cliche is that?    He gave me some cheesy line, "What's a pretty girl like you dancing alone?" and I feel for it hook line and sinker.  I thought he was being jerky like all the other  college boys I'd met so far (sophomore trolling the bars for freshman meat).  I told him he was a pretty mama's boy, he told me he would never marry a Catholic girl.  We were totally teasing each other and just having fun.  At the end of the night he walked me to my dorm (not unusual), kissed me (not unusual--oh dear now I look easy), and then he asked me on a date........What?!  THAT was unusual.  Where was the "so what bar are you going to next week", or "what is

So I spent most of Superbowl Sunday working in my classroom but I did stop long enough to get this precious story from J on video.  I am sad that I missed the previous story about the gorgeous prince though. :) Here is the translation: Once upon a time there was a princess and a mermaid. And then, once upon a time there was a cowboy. And then, there was a queen. The queen has a crown.  And then there was a mean mermaid and it stealed the queenses crown.  The queen was sad and she did not get another crown ever, ever again.  So she tiptoed to the woman’s room carefully and did not wake up the woman. And they did wake up the woman and tiptoed fast back to the crown.  And the queen said, “no more tipping” we took the crown already so, then they were at the woman’s and tiptoed carefully again and the mermaid was back to sleep.  Hmm!  That must be a wot of words.  Wouldn't it be great to have kids tell a story on flip video or ipad video?
