DIbels and Aimsweb testing practice with POP!

My friend Tracy is at it again.  She created a fun way to practice missing numbers.  Do you know the game pop?  It is a card game.  You draw the card, say the missing, number and if you know it you keep it.  If you get a pop card, all of your cards go back.  You can use a bowl or a popcorn container.  Find the game  here.   End of the year assessments are coming up!! EEK!

Have you discovered Reading Eggs yet???

I love Reading Eggs!  I used up a free trial in February of this year but I'm just getting around to posting about it now.  During my free trial we were able to get to the computer lab every day for the kids to work on this website at their own pace.  16 out of 18 were successful (the other 2 wanted more action, but finally in April they are coming around to learn that educational computer time can be just as fun as the games they play at home).  Once a week we experimented on Reading Eggs in whole group in front of the smartboard.  This helps them see exactly what they are supposed to be doing. When our free trial was up they were very disappointed!!! Here are a few video clips of my class + Reading Eggs in action.  I wish I could convince my school district to buy a subscription!!

Don't forget the dry erase boards, and a freebie!! HM Journeys Lesson 22

So normally I am not a fan of dry erase boards.  At the beginning of the year they love to scribble and many times these  non washable makers get all over their clothing.  So I put them away until now.  Thirty-four days of school left and they can handle these boards. Yay!! Here they are writing phrases.  I am reminding them to use their spaces.   And math, practicing some addition and subtraction as I walk around and coach.   A simple third grad buddy task.  And my friend Tracy is at it again!  To get her free class book for this story, otherwise know as Houghton Mifflin Journey Unit 5, Lesson 22 click  here. How many days of school do you have left?  Do you have any end of the year tips and tricks??  Anything you save as your last magic trick???
