I Have Who Has, starring J, the 3 year old

I owe a lot to Fran Kramer from Kindergarten Crayons.  First the little dots on her readers taught my 3 year old how to track words on a page.  Find this paper book on her blog here.








and now, thanks to her I Have, Who Has cards, she is reading and recognizing numbers 1-30!

    Can I just say I am jealous you get to be a SAHM. I completely embraced teaching when my kids were littler but not I am noticing the things I am missing with them during the day and also I get so tired after the work day!

    Translation: Lately I've been dreaming of staying at home too, but I've worked too hard for my position, and now have my Master's, so I'm staying put! Are you teaching the rest of this year LIsa? The teacher has lice :/

You itched your head just reading that didn't you??  Lice does not discriminate.  Anyone can get it.  Even me. So we have A LOT of hair at our house and about a year ago I decided it would be a good idea to grow out my hair to see how long I could go before I couldn't stand it anymore.  It is a year and a half later and I had/have lice.  Nice experiment huh?  So my daughter's Kindergarten teacher is a good friend of mine and the day after Thanksgiving break came the e-mails.  "What a day, I've sent 2 home with lice and another 2 told me that they spent Thanksgiving break bagging up toys and shampooing with special shampoo." and then "5th one just went home."  I raced home at 5:00 to discover that my kinder had a head full and guess who slept in a hotel bed with her over Thanksgiving?  Yes me!!  Time to freak out.  Please don't do this.  It doesn't help whatsover and it will be OK, I promise.   If you are reading...

Tell me more (a linky party)

I am joining up with  Mrs. Lemon's Linky Party  Tell me more!  I am excited to join because I am a big fan of Mrs. Lemon's and want to get to know more 2nd grade bloggers.  Which leads me to my first tid-bit.   1.  I have taught Kindergarten for 10 years and I am nervous about beginning a new year at a new school in second grade!  2.   I turned 35 on my last birthday.  3.  My children (ages 4 and 9) are guinea pigs to my teaching ideas.  4.  My four favorite vacations were Hawaii, New York City and Panama City Beach, Florida and Western Nebraska.    5.  The jobs I've held include retail, aerobics instructor, dishwasher, lifeguard, child-care director.  6.  Both my Grandmas were named Rose.  7.  I once hit my head on the diving board when trying to do a back flip.     8.  2 days after I was born a tornado hit my house.  My first home was a hotel.  ...
